Ethereal Coloring Pages

Back in 2020 when I became a first-time mom in the middle of COVID-19 lockdown, I used my free time to create these coloring book pages. There will someday be a a complete coloring book, until then, enjoy this Alien Babe, Mama Gaia, Sunset Meditation, and Feline Goddess. Not pictured here yet remembered fondly is the Rain Fairy coloring page (As soon as she is located I will be adding a photo here--stay tuned!)

Reverie Style Guide

The term Reverie refers to the surreal state of mind where daydreaming occurs. This brand is inspired by various social media influencers (such as Heather Hoffman or activationvibration, and Meghan Giudice or earthspearl on instagram) whose feminine entrepreneurship and visual aesthetic inspire me to step into my own version of freedom and connection to nature.
Combining highly saturated, low-opacity colors, wispy cloud-like shapes, and background gradients to create an organic, soft flow from one page to the next, this style guide portrays the visual idea of femininity to me. There is a fluidity about the layout, rather than a grid structure, as if the viewer is looking upon a map of a fantasy land, with whimsical imagery sprinkled throughout, such as pink butterflies and ancient castles.
It is important to note that Reverie’s reference, practice, and teaching of yoga are done respectfully and in honor of the cultural roots, which are displayed on the style guide’s “Retail Highlights” spread. Inspired by the yogic teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, a deep dive into the 8 Limbs of Yoga as well as a Sanskrit study of 50 different Asanas are present, in poster format and a card deck, for user reference. The logo is a vectored vision I received in meditation for this project, a symmetrical mirrored abstract shape almost resembling a butterfly. There are spreads that highlight logo usage guidelines, color palette usage, and another is for fonts in use, which are intended to support the dreamy and serene effect. There is a decorative, serif font for the logotype, and a serif font for the body text that blends well with the header and logotype.

Chalkboard Signage

Marketing signage was a large part of the front desk duties working at BeWell in 2024 (a local wellness center) using chalk on a black chalkboard that was to be placed outside the front door to be seen by pedestrians and vehicles passing by.

It was a pleasure to use visualization, a hands-on process, and graphic design knowledge to create letters and layouts on a black chalkboard easel sign. These chalkboard signs were updated every two weeks to once a month for the duration of my employment there, and even after choosing to work somewhere else I was still asked to come back to continue creating these signs. The process involved the business owner offering a prompt of a few words for the chalkboard, such as “Community Meditation, 5:30 PM, Sundays.” Working with the medium of chalk felt more like play, with many childhood memories resurfacing during the creative process.

Things to consider while in process were legibility and conciseness; making sure that people walking or driving by can digest what the sign is communicating, with a proper balance of information and negative space, and any ornamental details that aligned with the sign’s message, such as a human face in meditation with a beam of light bursting out of the forehead area, or the third eye chakra.

Comfort = Happiness

Think of a special self care night that helps one feel loved and nurtured as a mother would to her child; a cozy bedtime bath with the healing, calm scent of lavender, a delicious box of decadent chocolate for that late night treat, and a little stuffed toy to connect with the child within us all and to feel a little less alone. Capitalizing on human emotions, the brand Happiness=Comfort, includes a milk carton-shaped box of lavender-scented Epsom salts (for that luxurious, detoxifying bath time), a heart-shaped box of gourmet chocolates, and a label wrapped around a plushie toy. All of these items are placed into a larger gift-wrapped container and sold as a happiness kit. The packaging design features playful font choices and vectored patterns that are inspired by the Powerpuff Girl aesthetic; bubble letters and highly saturated hearts, stars and circles appear overlapping in a seemingly chaotic order. The Epsom salts’ package incorporates realistic photography elements of lavender flowers, and the box of chocolates portraying a photo of the contents inside, and the label wrap for the plushie toy having a photo of the plushie itself on the label as well. These three items inside the kit are carefully picked to describe my personal opinion of what brings me happiness and a connection to the senses. Scented lavender, tasty chocolate, soft stuffed animal, and visuals that bring me back to my childhood.

To Summarize <3

My works explore how design can elevate comfort, well-being, and playful engagement. The projects consist of these thematic elements in unique ways. Reverie is a style guide with posters connected to a visionary lifestyle. It is a space for dreams to be born and to grow. It was a branding project prompt for a wellness center that turned into my own small business for yoga teaching, graphic design, and other creative offerings. The coloring book pages made in 2020 were just the start of a full coloring book coming soon. The project, Happiness=Comfort, has three packages designed to fit an intangible concept, such as happiness, into a box, to then be sold on a shelf at a store. The final project is a nod to the professional experience I had in 2024 as the chalkboard artist at a local small business, BeWell, Marquette. The vividly colored, hand-drawn fonts are invitations for passing individuals to be part of specific wellness community events. Each project is described in further

detail, and how they explore concepts of comfort, well-being, and playfulness as well as hints of nostalgia, dreaminess, spirituality, and magic.
